Attendees will hear from Jordan Brannon, president and COO of Coalition Technologies, an SEO and web design agency, about the value of search engine optimization to independent bookstores.

Dave Grogan and Molly Bond of the American Booksellers for Free Expression and ABA’s Advocacy team will be on hand to address bookseller questions and concerns.

Booksellers will have the chance to sample a variety of board games with colleagues or game reps, review discounts, and place orders in the Board Game Playroom.

Attendees are asked to contact the front desk of their hotel with any reservation changes or cancellations rather than contacting ABA. 

ABA is inviting all booksellers attending the 2020 Winter Institute to take part in an open discussion about industry and association issues at a Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, January 23.

Booksellers can sign up now to book an appointment with one of the 19 publishing companies that have signed up to take part. 

Booksellers attending the 2020 Winter Institute in Baltimore later this month have a number of opportunities to learn more about ABA’s e-commerce platforms for indie bookstores, IndieCommerce and IndieLite.

Booksellers can donate to the Book Industry Charitable Foundation by buying flashing pins onsite in the days leading up to the game, during which attendees will have the opportunity to win $500.

Registration is open through January 10 for a range of special events, including an employee manual workshop, appointments with publishers, advanced education sessions, a bookselling boot camp, and more.

The 2020 Winter Institute in Baltimore will feature a wide array of parties and receptions where booksellers, publishers, and authors can socialize throughout the four-day event.

The IndieCommerce Institute seminar, to be held during the 2020 Winter Institute, will cover content creation and management, order processing, and more.
