Record Number of Publishers Sign On to Support Winter Institute 11
The American Booksellers Association’s 11th annual Winter Institute (Wi11), to be held in Denver, Colorado, on January 23 – 26, 2016, is made possible by the generous support of Ingram Content Group, the event’s lead sponsor, and additional support from more than 70 publishers large and small.
“ABA is immensely grateful to the record 73 publishers that have committed their support to Winter Institute 2016,” said ABA Development Officer Mark Nichols. “We are privileged to welcome 13 new publisher sponsors to the event. Their participation, along with that of our many returning sponsors, extends the diversity of information and offerings available to booksellers at Winter Institute 11.”
Thanks to their support, upwards of 500 ABA member booksellers will be able to take part in a jam-packed program of more than 30 education sessions, outstanding plenary speakers, reps’ picks lunches, roundtable discussions, publisher focus groups, special events, and more.
In addition, a record-breaking number of publisher-sponsored scholarships — as well as ABA scholarships in memory of former ABA CEO Avin Mark Domnitz, scholarships sponsored by the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (Binc), and a special scholarship to foster diversity — will be awarded for Wi11. Scholarships will cover the conference fee, up to a four-night stay plus tax at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, and transportation costs up to $400. (Scholarship winners will be announced in November.)
