The Potter’s House Wins Autumn Indie Playlist Display Initiative
The Potter’s House in the Adams Morgan district of Washington D.C., has won the Independent Publishers Caucus’ Autumn Indie Playlist initiative for its front-of-store display with shelf-talkers, its Bookshop list, and its Instagram story recommendations. The win comes with a $500 prize.
Each round, the Independent Publishers Caucus presents two Playlists of prize-winning titles for promotion at independent bookstores. These titles are supported with special terms and a $500 display contest for the best in-store window display or creative homepage “display.” The prize is split between the bookseller who creates the display and the store.
Stores can participate by choosing their favorite titles from one or both playlists, creating a display, promoting the display to customers, and submitting a photo to [email protected].
The Indie Playlist in-store display and event months for 2021 are June, August, and October.
The Autumn Indie Playlist featured two exclusive events for booksellers and their patrons: Acts of Courage with Roxane Gay and Okey Ndibe, moderated by Andy Tepper, and To Save the Environment with Aimee Nezhukumatathil and Andrew Krivak, moderated by Lauren LeBlanc.
Indie Playlist is an initiative of the Independent Publisher Caucus and is supported by the independent publisher services groups at Ingram, Penguin Random House, and Simon and Schuster. IPC is supported by its member publishers, as well as the American Booksellers Association, Publishers Weekly, Foreword Magazine, Ingram Publishers Services, Maple Press, and Sterling Pierce.
