IndieCommunication: Credit Card Processing Update, Regional Holiday Catalogs Online, and More
Here's the latest news from the IndieCommunication e-newsletter from the IndieCommerce team:
IndieCommerce Credit Card Processing Update
If your bookstore has not contacted us about moving off the shared ABA credit card merchant account and onto your own credit card merchant account, the November 1, 2020, deadline has passed and your store will now be charged a 4.5 percent credit card processing fee plus the standard 1 percent monthly commission.
You will NOT be charged the 4.5 percent credit card processing fee if you have contacted IndieCommerce staff about moving your bookstore to its own credit card merchant account and have begun or completed that process.
For stores that have not moved to their own credit card merchant account or contacted us about moving, a 4.5 percent credit card processing fee will be charged in addition to the 1 percent commission beginning this month and will continue until your bookstore moves to its own merchant account.
To see if your store is exempt from the 4.5 percent processing fee, visit: Store -> Configuration -> Store. If the box is checked, your store is exempt.

Regional Holiday Catalogs Online
An online version of each region’s 2020 holiday catalog is now available for IndieCommerce and IndieLite stores. Stores can link to the catalog by adding a menu link or a block on their IndieCommerce or IndieLite website.
Note: The full URL (including your site URL) should be used when creating a menu link. This is different from how other menu links are created, where only the relative path (what comes after the site URL) is used. Click here for more information.
Reminder: New Features for IndieLite
1. Discount coupons: IndieLite sites can now offer coupons to their customers. Coupons can be for a dollar amount or a percentage. Coupons can be for the order subtotal or for particular ISBNs. The IndieCommerce discount coupon help document has been updated with instructions for IndieLite stores.
2. IndieLite stores using Stamps.com, Pirate Ship, or ShippingEasy can export order information into a CSV file and create shipping labels in bulk. IndieLite stores can request these features from the Store Features page on their site. Go to: Store -> Configuration -> Account Information and Preferences -> Store Features
3. Bookazine wholesale stock information is now available when viewing orders on IndieLite websites.
Ingram Shortens CDF Window From 60 Days to 30
For stores fulfilling e-commerce orders using Ingram’s Consumer Direct Fulfillment (CDF), note that the window for Ingram refunds is now 30 days instead of 60 days. If your store encounters issues with any of those orders, please report them to [email protected] within 30 days of when the order was placed with Ingram. We will contact them on your store’s behalf. Please note that credit is not guaranteed. This change is effective on all invoiced orders placed after October 1, 2020.
