Hachette Launches Rapid Replenishment Program
Hachette Book Group announced on Tuesday that it has created a new rapid replenishment program for independent retailers in good standing within the continental U.S.
Orders received by 3:00 p.m. ET on Mondays will be entered, picked, packed, and guaranteed to arrive at bookstores no later than Friday of the same week. Orders placed Tuesday through Friday will be entered, picked, and packed within 24 hours and shipped standard method. This includes orders received into the Hachette system via electronic ordering platforms such as Edelweiss. Normal pack, stock availability, and freight rules apply.
“At HBG our primary goal is to help our bookselling partners and that is a major part of our daily focus and at the forefront of every conversation,” said Karen Torres, vice president, director of field sales and account marketing at Hachette. “This rapid replenishment program is a small step toward a major commitment we have made as publishing partners to the independent market place. We look forward to the benefits this program brings and look forward to shared success.”
All of the Hachette Book Group divisions are participating in the program: Grand Central Publishing; Hachette Audio; Hachette Books/Black Dog & Leventhal; Hachette Nashville; Little, Brown & Co.; Little, Brown Books for Young Readers; Orbit; and Yen.
Additionally, several distribution clients are participating: Abrams, Chronicle, Disney, Gildan Media, Marvel, Octopus, Paula Deen Ventures, Peterson’s, Phaidon, Quarto, Quercus, and Time Inc. (including Liberty Street and Oxmoor House). Not participating at this time are HUK, Moleskine U.S., and Moleskine Canada.
