Here’s what’s happening this week in the book industry:

Booksellers have until February 28 to sign up as an official Children’s Book Week location.

BookExpo has announced the author lineup for the Thursday, May 28, Adult Book & Author Breakfast, including Zerlina Maxwell, Joy Harjo, Carmen Maria Machado, Rep. Ilhan Omar, and Rebecca Roanhorse.

Eight new half-hour episodes of Poetry in America will begin airing on public television stations nationwide and on World Channel starting in April; the series will also be available to stream on PBS’ website and individual episodes will be available on the Poetry in America website.

Audible has settled a lawsuit with publishers over its audiobook captioning program.

Hachette Book Group has acquired more than 1,000 titles published under Disney Book Group.

The new Carol Shields Prize for Fiction, named after the award winning-author, will award $150,000 Canadian dollars to a female novelist beginning in 2022.

The Poetry Society of America has named Toi Derricotte the 2020 recipient of the Frost Medal for distinguished lifetime achievement in poetry.
