Bancard and Basil Announce Partnership

Bancard Systems, the affiliated credit card processor of the American Booksellers Association, is now fully integrated with Basil Bookseller Software, which offers point-of-sale and inventory control solutions for bookstores.

“Any current or new Basil user can now work with Bancard Systems,” said Bancard Vice President Jeffrey Gallo. “It is going to be a great working relationship between all parties that will allow all ABA members who use Basil to be able to take advantage of our ABA rate package.”

Bancard offers exclusive, low credit card processing rates for ABA member bookstores. Basil customers who sign up for Bancard’s services will be subject to a $10 per month gateway fee, which will be billed by Bancard.

Also under this new partnership, Basil customers who sign up for Bancard’s services will have the opportunity to purchase EMV-enabled credit card terminals at cost. Bancard is offering all bookstores in the ABA affiliate program the chance to secure upgraded devices at cost in preparation for the October 1 deadline for the transition to EMV technology.
