This year’s educational session from ABA will offer an overview of the event and tips from booksellers who have successfully made the best of the national celebration of indie bookstores.

“Independent Bookstore Day has become a really important day on the annual bookstore calendar, and it’s clear from the reports we’ve heard that it continues to grow,” said American Booksellers Association CEO Oren Teicher.

Booksellers around the country are preparing for the fifth annual Independent Bookstore Day, to take place this Saturday, April 27.

Shipments of exclusive, literary-themed merchandise began this week and will arrive at participating stores in time for Independent Bookstore Day on Saturday, April 27.

Beginning this Independent Bookstore Day, readers are invited to visit 20 bookstores across Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket as part of an event organized by Massachusetts booksellers.

With less than two months to go until Independent Bookstore Day, April 27, here are some tips for how participating stores can start spreading the news.

The fifth annual event will be celebrated at more than 575 participating independent bookstores across the country on Saturday, April 27.

This year’s map will encourage customers to post pictures of themselves in a featured bookstore.
