More than 630 stores are planning to celebrate Independent Bookstore Day on Saturday, August 29, and booksellers are invited to promote a range of virtual events to their customers.

Join a webinar on how to sell event merch on IndieCommerce and IndieLite sites; review a video of an informational roundtable on Bookstore Day; promote the virtual events taking place on August 29; and access a variety of new imagery to share.

Masks and mugs should be purchased by July 29 to ensure delivery by August 29, Independent Bookstore Day.

As booksellers schedule events, they’re encouraged to let IBD know for publicity purposes.

This year, booksellers are invited to sell the IBD merchandise on their websites beginning 10 days ahead of the event.

Through April 25, the original date for the celebration of Independent Bookstore Day, booksellers are holding contests, creating book lists, and promoting the indie message.

IBD will be doing a social media push about indie bookstores starting on April 19 and ending on the original celebration date of April 25.
