The September Indie Next List e-newsletter, featuring the month’s 20 titles with bookseller quotes in addition to a Q&A with the #1 pick, was sent to more than 694,000 customers at 180 ABA member stores.

The American Booksellers Association’s specialty bestseller lists provide a current snapshot of what’s selling in indie bookstores nationwide.

The Monthly Audiobook Bestseller List is based on sales through hundreds of independent bookstore locations participating in the Libro.fm audiobook program.

ABA is specifically seeking nominations for the genres of science fiction, fantasy, romance, mystery, thriller, comics and graphic works, and poetry.

Here, Libro.fm highlights a special Independent Bookstore Day promotion, the most anticipated audiobooks coming this fall, and the August Indie Bookstore Champion, Cory Doctorow.

“Cemetery Boys is a ghost story, a mystery, and a swoon-worthy romance all at once, and I have fallen in love with it!” said Mariana Calderon of Second Star to the Right Children’s Books.

“The Places We Sleep is a beautiful and moving novel in verse about a girl navigating her way toward adolescence in the midst of a national tragedy,” said Chelsea Bauer of Union Avenue Books.

Booksellers can sign up to send an e-newsletter to their customers featuring mystery and thriller titles, as well as short stories and poetry.
