The American Booksellers Association will reprise its popular Principles of Bookstore Finance seminar with events scheduled at two of this year’s regional fall trade shows.

Booksellers are encouraged to review the schedule when beginning to book travel. Registration for Winter Institute will open at 1:00 p.m. EDT on Monday, September 17.

Scholarships will cover the conference fee; up to four nights plus tax at a hotel in the ABA block; and transportation costs up to $400 for the January 22–25 event in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

At each of the fall regional trade shows, ABA will present the new “Maximizing Pre-Order Campaigns” education session, where booksellers will learn how to work with publishers to take full advantage of pre-order opportunities.

At this fall’s regional trade shows, booksellers can sign up for one-on-one meetings with IndieCommerce staff to discuss the IndieCommerce and IndieLite e-commerce platforms.

The 2019 Winter Institute, to be held January 22–25 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, will feature notable keynote presenters, 40 education sessions, author receptions, networking opportunities, and more.

This July, independent booksellers across the U.S. celebrated another year of Find Waldo Local, the shop-local challenge co-sponsored by Candlewick Press and the American Booksellers Association.

Until November 1, non-member booksellers will have the chance to test-drive membership in the American Booksellers Association for free by signing up at one of the 2018 fall shows or on ABA’s website.

The ABC Children’s Group’s 2019 Children’s Institute will be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from Wednesday, June 26, through Friday, June 28.
